Bruin Grad Pass

Bruin Grad Pass

Santa Monica Big Blue Bus will be providing service to Weyburn Terrace beginning Sunday, September 27, as the BruinBus U1 route has been temporarily suspended.

With the April 2020 passage of the graduate student transit pass referendum, UCLA graduate students have access to the Bruin Grad Pass program, which enables use of all local transit agencies in addition to—should they be commuting from afar—their choice of one of the many commuter lines serving campus. The Bruin Grad Pass offers unlimited fare-free rides on Los Angeles Metro bus and rail lines, Santa Monica Big Blue Bus, and Culver CityBus during each academic year.

UCLA graduate students can follow these steps to obtain a Bruin Grad Pass:

  1. Log in to the transit portal using your UCLA Logon ID.
  2. Complete the federally mandated one-time Metro survey.
  3. Select Bruin Grad Pass and proceed to review and submit your order. You will receive an email with a confirmation number.
  4. Within two business days, you will be notified when your pass is ready to be picked up from the Central Ticket Office
  5. To use your new TAP card, simply tap your card at the farebox when boarding.

Once you pick up your TAP card, you will receive an email with information on how to request your commuter line pass should you need one. Your commuter line pass will be available for use within six business days.
