How to Ride Transit for Free at UCLA

Bruin Commuter Tranist Benefit

Tired of high gas prices? There's no better time than Sustainable Transportation Month to dump the pump and try public transit, especially when it could be free! In addition to subsidized transit passes, we provide the following programs and services that make it possible for Bruins to get around without paying a penny.

Bruin Commuter Transit Benefit

The Bruin Commuter Transit Benefit provides eligible Bruins with a free quarterly transit pass valid for any of the seven transit agencies serving UCLA: Los Angeles Metro bus and rail linesSanta Monica Big Blue BusCulver CityBusAntelope Valley TransitSanta Clarita TransitLong Beach Transit, and LADOT Commuter Express. BruinBus

BruinBus is a year-round complimentary transit service providing access through campus and Westwood Village on weekdays. Service is also provided for students on select weekends to home football games, Westwood Village, and Santa Monica. Visit the BruinBus website for a complete schedule and list of stops. Real-time tracking can be found on the TripShot app available for download from Google Play or the App Store.

UCLA SafeRide

UCLA SafeRide is a complimentary service that provides safe, reliable, evening campus transportation between campus buildings, on-campus housing, and nearby residential areas. On-demand rides are available through the TripShot app Monday through Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (excluding holidays and breaks). The Safe Loop route also provides continuous service Monday through Friday from 6:45 p.m. to 10:10 p.m. (excluding holidays and breaks). BruinAccess

BruinAccess is a complimentary paratransit service for qualified Bruins, providing on-demand rides during academic weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. UCLA Transportation works in collaboration with the UCLA Center for Accessible Education (CAE) and Disability Management Services for Staff & Faculty to determine eligibility for the service.
